Hands of Giving is committed to raising $10,000 by the end of 2027 to provide scholarship support to students pursuing a career in nursing.
Why nursing?
South Carolina is experiencing a significant need for healthcare professionals. According to the SC Department of Employment and Workforce's 2026 Supply Gap Analysis, health care and human services has the state's largest overall workforce supply gap, with approximately 17,900 more openings than newly qualified workers. Registered nursing represents the largest supply gap among occupations requiring a postsecondary credential.
Our goal is to bridge the gap. Nursing students are preparing for careers that will directly impact the health and well-being of our communities. We want to help make that journey a little more attainable by providing financial support when it matters.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by December 31, 2027.
Every gift brings us closer to helping a nursing student take the next step toward their degree, their career, and their future.

Ava is a graduate of South Aiken High School and attending the University of South Carolina!
The J.Belser Scholarship was established to support young women as they pursue higher education and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
